In fact, wedding dresses varied in color, length, and pattern according to the culture belief. Lets take an example. The traditional wedding dress of the Vietnamese brides, which is also called Ao dai, is usually in red color. As they believe that red will bring luck and happiness for them, they would like to wear red wedding gown very much. Besides, it also has an oriental pattern which is mostly seen in the front part extending from the chest area to the thighs or feet. In their life, red is in line with how the Vietnamese culture sees it as a sign of good luck and prosperity. As I know, in the Asian countries, such as China and India, their wedding gowns are similar to the dresses what we just mentioned. They put red color on an important place as they think red color pertaining to good luck. However, as the years went by, some brides in those countries opt to wear different color wedding dresses, such as white or ivory color. Especially wedding gowns of white color, it has become a fashion trend in their countries. This is proof that globalization has indeed become something that has influenced numerous people from all over the world. Different cultures have influenced each other all the time.
But in some Asian countries, for example, Japan, is totally different with China and India. Brides will wear three or more dresses in that time. For instance, the brides will wear a western white wedding dress in the church. Then she will wear a traditional wedding gown, which is called kimono in her wedding feast. If there is a prom in the later time, she will wear an elegant evening dress. It sounds incredible, doesnt it?
